I don’t think it’s the Fairy Tale Book. About 9 -12 in tall – thick with beautifully coloured illustrations. Briar Rose, Rapunzel + many more. Maybe also rhymes & riddles. I really want to buy a copy but can’t find one.

Hi I was just wondering if you have had any luck finding this book, or even any clues as to what it was? The illustrations were exquisitely drawn. The stories followed reasonably the original stories – unlike the retelling of them today.

Could it be “The Family Treasury of Children’s Stories” by Pauline Evans?
I had 2 volumes of these books (not sure if there were more). As I remember, the first volume was more poetry and stories for younger children, and the second volume was for older children. I preferred Vol. 2. Immediately recognized the cover of the book when I saw it. Link:
