Jen says...Reading WIFEHOUSE feels a bit like watching a trainwreck, but the most intimate and beautifully rendered trainwreck you could imagine. In the spirit of THE AWAKENING, this book centers around Annie, her increasing dissatisfaction with her marriage and domestic life, and the choices she makes as she nears a state of emotional crisis. But Walger also offers the unflinching perspectives of Annie's husband, children, and friends as the family unit dissolves. The result is a book that asks us to consider what we owe to ourselves and to others without offering a single prescriptive answer.
