Our Staff

Adrienne - Bookseller, Book Buyer, Inventory Director

Adrienne Photo Adrienne is a (mostly) lifelong Clevelander whose professional life has seen her managing clinical trials, waiting tables, and singing in churches and lounges. She has been working at Loganberry since Fall 2023 and is grateful every day to have found a place here. Adrienne lives in the Heights with her extremely patient partner, Zach, and their extremely silly pets. If you need her, though, she’ll be in LitArts opening boxes of books.

Alice - Beloved Familiar, Manager

Alice Photo Alice learned the book trade under the watchful tutelage of Otis (see below). Although she is officially our general manager she only makes in-shop appearances on occasion, preferring work from home, with a respectful paws-off approach. When here, she is an energetic presence, even when napping.

Annelies - Bookseller

Annelies moved to Cleveland in June 2025 to pursue her masters in Art History and Museum Studies at Case and the Cleveland Museum of Art, and joined Loganberry shortly after she moved. At Loganberry she works in the Craft, Collectibles, and Design alcoves. Whenever she's not reading about medieval art she can be found reading narrative nonfiction, sci-fi, mysteries, or books she has stolen from her mom over the years. She also likes to spend her free time sewing quilts, crafting, going for runs, and hanging out with her cat, Arthur.

Brenda - Book Buyer

Brenda Photo Brenda loves to buy books, the older the better, but hates selling them. She avidly positions chairs, rugs and displays in their proper locations. In short, Brenda is the proprietor’s mother.

Cat - Bookseller, Tchotchkes Lead

Cat Photo Cat (she/they) is thrilled to be among the ranks of wonderful folks at Loganberry. She is the chief buyer/merchandiser of cards and tchotchkes, as she is a Trinket Queen. Cat is a Cleveland native, who moved back home in the fall of 2022 after living in Chicago for many years. Cat was previously an ASL-English interpreter, and has worked primarily in the disability and social services sector prior to coming to Loganberry. She is obsessed with her dog Keppy, loves to star gaze and bird watch, and their special interest is learning lots of trivia about lots of movies! (For example: did you know the Battle of Helm's Deep in the second (and best) LOTR movie took over three months to film?) Cat reads a lot of fiction, and devours most thrillers/mysteries they come across. Come say hi to Cat as they bop around fixing displays and putting out wonderful cards for you to purchase!

Ebrahim - Bookseller

Ebrahim Photo Ebrahim is from Persia, the land of poets, pistachios, and rugs. Ebrahim's father is a book publisher, so he has been involved in the book industry from the first day of his life. Pursuing an MBA at Case Western Reserve University brought him from his home country to Cleveland. Although he has an MBA now, he did not lose his interest in books. After joining Loganberry Books in October 2018, he gave a more international theme to the store.

Elisabeth - Bookseller, Book Buyer, Calendar Director

Elisabeth Photo Elisabeth began working at Loganberry while home from Vassar College on summer break in 2007. It was this introduction to the book business that sent her off on an almost 10-year career in book publishing after graduating and moving to New York City. She moved back to Cleveland with her wife in 2017 and is thrilled to be back to her bookselling roots. Elisabeth's reading and collecting passions include vintage travel and nature writing and women's biography. When not reading (or telling you what you should read next), Elisabeth can be found in her garden or planning her next trip.

Click on the box title line to use this employment inquiry form to begin the process of applying to work at Loganberry. We are always looking for smart bookies, and if we aren't ready to hire right now, we will keep your inquiry on file!

Erika - Bookseller

Photo of Erika with bookshelves Erika (they/them) came to Cleveland to attend CWRU and is incredibly happy to be working at Loganberry Books after graduating. They got their BA in Music and World Literature as well as an MA in Bioethics and is now working towards an MLIS at Indiana University. At Loganberry they catalogue used books, conduct minor book repairs, and oversee the performing arts and lgbtq+ sections. They love musicology, literary criticism, psychological thriller, queer literature, disability studies, bildungsroman, literary and contemporary fiction (the darker the better), and more. When they are not reading, they can be found performing in local ensembles, sewing clothes, knitting/crocheting, drawing/painting, and caring for one too many plants.

Freddy - Bookseller

Freddy Photo Every bookstore needs a retired librarian, and we are luck to have two! (See Wendy, below)  Freddy’s greatest passion is the outdoors, be it traveling, walking to work, or gardening, so it is no surprise she hosts the Naturalist’s Notebook discussion group. She also coordinates the NOBS (Northern Ohio Bibliophilic Society) Forums. You can find her hanging around the Nature and Science sections, and making great displays throughout the Nonfiction room.

Hanna - Bookseller, Events Manager

photo of Hanna with picture books Hanna (they/she) grew up in Shaker Heights before living 15 years in New York City, where they worked odd jobs in trade publishing. From producing audiobooks, to consulting on licensing and translation with foreign publishers, and now recommending picture books to Loganberry customers, Hanna has great curiosity and enthusiasm for the business of books. In their spare time, they enjoy reading speculative fiction and working on their own writing (or procrastinating their own writing by doodling and playing video games).

Harriett - Proprietor

Harriett Photo Harriett started Loganberry Books in 1994, acknowledging that what she liked best about perpetual school was the physical objects called books. Her personal biblio interests range from Robert Lawson to Virginia Woolf and various and sundry illustrated editions of Alice in Wonderland and old lepidoptera.

Jen - Bookseller, Communications Manager

photo of Jen Jen found her way to Loganberry after working in public relations for far too long. She loves coming-of-age stories, melancholy character-driven novels, memoir, cookbooks, and any children's tale in which a precocious critter embarks upon bookish adventures. She oversees Loganberry's marketing and communications efforts as well as the Americana and Poetry sections. Outside of the bookstore, she is a poet and mom to one very cute toddler and two very large cats.

Julie - Bookseller

Julie Photo Julie came to Cleveland to attend Case Western Reserve University, and stayed after graduating because of the wonderful people she’s met here. A voracious reader, primarily of non-fiction but also some fiction, Julie thought she had found heaven when she discovered Loganberry. Aside from reading, she enjoys writing, painting, music, cuddling her dog, and nature. Julie selects books for the Loganberry Curated Reads, as well as maintaining the Stump the Bookseller page.

Leigh - Bookseller, Oldies Lead

Leah Photo Leigh has been buying and selling books since 1992. Having dealt primarily with newer editions, she enjoys delving further into the antiquarian book world at Loganberry. She is a native Clevelander, raised by bibliophiles, who holds degrees in Psychology and Film History and Theory. She loves to read mysteries and literary novels with dual timelines. She is also a big film fan. Leigh is an animal lover and a founding board member of the Cleveland Vegan Society, which organizes the Cleveland VegFest. She lives with her husband and their family of rescue cats.

Morgan - Bookseller

Morgan Photo Morgan is a lifelong Cleveland Eastsider and has worked in the book space for over 20 years. She loves a well-paced literary novel and a soft couch. She spends most of her time walking her poorly behaved dog.

Otis - Beloved Familiar

Otis Photo Otis joined us in the spring of 2008. Harriett was leaving for work when all of a sudden a very loud grey-and-white kitten appeared and demanded a job in book sales. He was very persuasive and Harriett decided to offer him a position. And that is how Loganberry Books became “the bookstore with the cat.” Otis oversaw the store and enthusiastically greeted customers for many years, retiring in 2022. He died in 2024, but will forever be a part of the store.

Raz - Annex Gallery Manager, Bookseller

Rachel Photo Raz is an artist who is thrilled to be working in Loganberry's labyrinthine forest of books when they're not making art. They graduated Cranbrook Academy of Art with an MFA in Print Media in 2016, and from Washington University in St. Louis with a BFA in Printmaking and Drawing in 2011. When not making art or selling books, Raz can often be found reading graphic novels, herding cats, watching cartoons, and playing video games.

Rebecca - Out-of-Print Specialist

Rebecca Photo Rebecca has spent a checkered career reading as much as possible, to the detriment of any other activity.  She spent many years as an announcer and interviewer for classical music radio, and has been known to commit theater on various occasions. She specializes in hunting down whatever books our customers need. She has two grown children.

Sarah - Bookseller, Book Buyer

Sarah Photo Sarah is a longtime Loganberry (and author), now semi-retired.  She cleans up our stock numbers, shelves the copious incoming inventory, and helps customers find the perfect read (even if she does tend towards dark and depressing tales herself).

Toni - Administrative Director, Bookseller, Book Buyer

Toni Photo Toni does some of most things around the shop, from front-line bookselling to buying, bookkeeping, and IT support. She first worked at Loganberry 2002-2004, then left to pursue writing, editing, teaching, and fundraising for reproductive health, among other things. She's been back since the summer of 2021, and never happier. Toni's bookselling career began in the late 80's at New York City's Shakespeare & Co. She holds degrees in English, History, and Creative Writing, and loves books of all kinds.

Wendy - Bookseller, Sanctuary Guru

photo of Wendy Wendy was a librarian for over 30 years, 17 of those spent as the Librarian at the Cleveland Museum of Natural History. She is thrilled to now be a Loganberry, where she spends most of her time in the Sanctuary taking care of the rare books. When she's not at Loganberry, she can be found reading, doing the New York Times Sunday crossword puzzle, or walking her puppy.

Wild - Bookseller

photo of Wild holding a book Wild (they/he) moved to Cleveland in 2022 to pursue a BFA degree at Cleveland Institute of Art - and he's almost finished it! Since they started working at Loganberry in the summer of 2025, they've found it to be the perfect escape from the stress of senior year, along with their favorite horror novels of course. In edition to working on the tchotchke team and managing book returns, Wild is in charge of the genre fiction walls, the teen books, and Loganberry's Queer Book Club! When he's not curled up with a skin-crawling read, he can be found admiring skeletons or studying birds.
