Jean Conder Soule

ABOUT THE AUTHOR
Jean Soule's daughter writes: Jean (Conder) Soule was born in Brookline, Massachusetts in 1919. Jean majored in English at Mount Holyoke College. There she worked for the press bureau, phoning in stories to a young reporter named George Soule, who she later married. The Soules settled in Springfield, Pa., where they raised three children. When she was not writing about her children, she was writing stories for their amusement, several of which became published books. Her classic poetry is timeless and has appeared in The Wall Street Journal, Good Housekeeping and other popular publications. Sometimes light and humorous, sometimes serious and thought-provoking, [Never Tease a Weasel] continues to appeal to each new generation of parents and children. LOGANBERRY LEGACY

Out-of-print books are harder to stock than new books, and some are hard to find, period. If the title you are seeking is not listed for sale above, that probably means that I am currently out of stock. However, I am always on the lookout for books, and will gladly quote you when I do find your coveted book. To add your name to my Wants Files, simply fill out a Book Request Form and I will e-mail you when I have a copy in stock. Thanks. |
| I have looked at so many out-of-print search
sites I am dizzy. Since I knew this title, Amazon.com has been searching
for me for a month. Now that I have your site, I am thrilled to see that
you found a copy of this title for someone in April!!! My entire family
awaits your discovery with crossed fingers, bated breath, and all those
suterstitious cliches. Thank you.
I'm in search of a book I read to my now 20 year old daughter when she was 3 or 4. I'm not sure of the title but one of our favorite lines in it was "Never tease a weasel, the weasel wouldn't like it". I'm not sure of the title. I contacted Chinaberry and they suggested I contact you. They said they thought the name was Never Tease a Weasel and that it was printed in 1964. Can you help? I'm also interest if this author has any other children's titles. And who owns the rights? Do you have any information on the author?
Do you know who owns the rights to this poem? Has the author written
anything else? I am a children's television producer who is interested
in acquiring
I have been searching for this book for a long time -- used to read it to my daughter and son when they were little - our favorite book. They are now ages 34 and 36. Hi I have looked almost everywhere for a
Parents Magazine Press book from the 60's titled Lennies Twenty Pennies.
Would you happen to have it or know where I might look for it?
Thanks.
Never Tease a Weasel. I taught 3rd grade in Pampa TX and often showed the filmstrip to my classes - even took it home for my three children to enjoy. The story is good - adding the filmstrip/sound track makes it unforgettable. I linked here due to Artella's LinkLatte and was thrilled to see reference to this book! As a teen, I babysat three little ones; the middle one was about four, had a generous lisp, and recited this book's chorus to me a million times: "Nef-fer theeth a weeth-oe, thith ith vewwy thoun' ad-vithe, cuth a weeth-oe wiw not wike it -- (here a great scowl and deepened voice) " -- an' teeth-ing ith-unt nithe!!!" |
My daughter, Megan, and I are so happy that you
have located a copy of Never Tease a Weasel by Jean Soule.
We want to thank you for your help--we never expected to see this story
again!
Yes, yes, yes, yes, YES!!! We want that copy of Never Tease a Weasel. Thank you so much. We were just about to give up hope. I will mail you a check today. Thank you again. I would like to purchase this book as a surprise gift to my 31 year old son. It was his favorite and it was destroyed in a flood in our basement. I have been looking everywhere. Can you locate another one? This was a book I used to read to my children. Now that my grandson is here, I want to share it with him. The book is about teasing. "Never Tease a Weasel, not even once or twice. A Weasel will not like it, and teasing isn't nice." My two boys have never seen the book but oft repeat the Never Tease a Weasel phrase. Matter of fact, it has become a family tradition. I'm thrilled that we'll now be able to experience the whole book. I remember my third grade teacher playing a short film strip that was a musical adaption of this book. Anyone ever hear of this? Jean Conder Soule, Katy's First Day. This story was one of my 30 year old daughters favorite books when she was young. It is now one of her daughters favorite, 25 years later. I would like to have a copy to give to my granddaughter for her 5th birthday. Katy's First Day is a story many yourng children can relate to. Jean Conder Soule wrote with the voice of a child. It is an excellent story line with excellent illustrations. Jean Conder Soule, Never Tease a Weasel. My mom read this book to me when I was little. The phrase has always stuck with me...I have been saying it lately to my 12 year-old step daughter when she playfully teases my grandson. We would love to have a copy of the book, since all that I can remeber about it is the phrase. |
