Edie Carey
Friday, July 28, 8pm
$10 in advance / $12 at the door

Edie Carey grabs hold of her audiences and doesn't let go until she steps off the stage. Carey's wry and self-mocking humor, coupled with her ability to tell a great story, makes audiences feel as though they have just spent the evening with a very close friend. Given the triple threat of her magnetic stage presence, heart-grabbing songs, and almost unearthly voice, it's no wonder that the word about Carey is traveling fast.

Pamela Means
Friday, August 4, 8pm
$10 in advance / $12 at the door

Pamela Means is a Boston-based Out (spoken), Biracial indie folk artist whose "kamikaze guitar style" and punchy provocative songs have worn a hole in her guitar. Armed with razor wit poetry and irresistable charm, Pamela Means' "stark, defiant songs" (New York Times Magazine) set the status quo and the stage afire.

Rita de Quercus
Saturday, August 5, 8pm
$10

Rita de Quercus (known as Rita Coriell when she lived in Cleveland) has been writing songs and singing them for over 40 years. Her music is eclectic, covering a wide range of themes and styles. Her songs are generally poetic with extensive use of natural imagery and metaphors, and often humorous.  Rita will accompany herself on guitar in the relaxed and intimate Loganberry Books.

Gene's Jazz Hot

CDs will be available for purchase ($15 each) and autographing.

Carrie Cheron
Friday, August 25, 8pm
$10 in advance / $12 at the door

The lovely, lilting voice of Boston-based singer/songwriter Carrie Cheron is an art-form all to itself. With a sound that is as warm and rich as velvet, this gifted songwriter and master song interpreter is absolutely mesmerizing.  Following the release of her debut full-length cd, One More Autumn, Carrie brings her charm to the midwest and promises to captivate the crowd amongst the books at Loganberry.

World Vegetarian Day
North American Vegetarian Society

Did you know October is World Vegetarian Month?  Well, it is.  It's an international celebration, in fact.   As such, I've encouraged my neighbor Laurie at the Larchmere Tavern to cook up some special vegetarian selections this month.  With the help of Loganberry's extensive cookbook collection, as well as her own secrets, she has.  Stop in the Larchmere Tavern anytime this month and savor some meatless morsels.  And enjoy a 10% discount on any cookbooks at Loganberry Books this month, too.  Go Veg!

Workshops
Wellness Weeknight:  Creating a Healthy Home
Mary & Mary's Elements of Health
with Colleen Sharp of the University of Akron
Tuesday, April 18, 7-9pm  (free)

Creating a Healthy Home can have a SERIOUS and WONDERFUL affect on our environment, and it DIRECTLY relates to your health, the health of your family and the health of our community.  We will talk specifically about how household chemicals contribute to allergies, headaches, rashes, and the alarming increase in asthma - especially childhod asthma. Colleen Sharp, Environmental Biologist, and instructor and at the University of Akron, will discuss the far reaching negative effects of common household cleaners on the environment.  We will give you lots of simple and inexpensive solutions to improve your little corner of the world and make your house a "Home Safe Home." We'll also share with you the legacy of environmental leadership of Shaklee Corporation, the FIRST company in the USA to earn the title "Climate Neutral."  Attendees will receive a sample of Shaklee's Basic H cleaner, the first official Earth Day product in 1990 and the first biodegradebale cleaning product.

Introduction To Telepathic Communication With Animals
a workshop and book signing with Jacquelin Smith
Sunday, May 21
10am-1pm:  Workshop  ($60)
1pm-2pm:  Book Signing  (free)
2pm-5pm:  Individual Consultations  ($25)

Through Species Connection, established in 1980, Jacquelin Smith has helped others reawaken their innate, intuitive ability to communicate with animals. Animal communication is a heart-to-heart connection that everyone can experience if they open, love, and listen to the animals. Interspecies communication is a natural connection many of us have forgotten. It has nothing to do with being "psychic."  Spend a couple hours with Lakewood native Jacquelin Smith and learn how to better communicate with your own pets.  Have Jacquelin sign her excellent book, Animal Communication: Our Sacred Connection which features many anecdotes and inspiring stories, some with Cleveland connections.  Individual Consults with Jacquelin also available, reservations required.

Woody Blue:  With Unflagging Spirit

In the past 4 years, she has taken every opportunity to insert her flags into an increasingly war-driven world.  Now, 800 flags later, she invites you to join her in a free evening of textile art, humor, outrageous discussion, and gourmet refreshments.
